Jane is a 1974 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Iowa State University with a B.S. Degree in French. She graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1977. While attending law school, she worked for the Iowa Attorney General’s office and interned for the Honorable William C. Hanson in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa. Jane joined an attorney in private practice in Ames, Iowa, in the fall of 1977. In 1979, she joined her present law firm and became a partner in 1980. She practices primarily in wills, trusts, estate planning, probate law and also family law. Part of Jane’s family law practice emphasizes adoption and she has served as a member of the Iowa State Bar Association Committee on Adoptions since 1996. Jane also served four years on the Iowa State Bar Association Committee on Professional Ethics and Conduct (now the Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board) and is Past President of the Story County Bar Association. She is a member of the American Bar Association as well. Jane has been active in numerous civic organizations and an active volunteer in the Ames School District. She is married and has a daughter and married son. |
